Silvia Franco’s natural gifts and artistic talent are formidable. They enable her to find the organic forms of the wood she’s carving like divining rod senses water. There is the ability to discover with immediacy the next cut to be made. An inner eye guides her hand to release each element of her ligneous creation. Influenced by the primitive, Ms. Franco reveals the artistic spirit of a warrior in her Feminist inspired work. She bears the sword whereby she carves her way through the obstacles that hide the art that waits to be seen.
Ms. Franco’s work is in different permanent collections such as The Art Students League of New York, Forbes family, Grace Institute, and many other. She is in a numerous publications from different parts of the world. Ms. Franco has private and corporative commissions. Recently she is working in a new project called “Branches and Boxes”
