Sara Webb is a prize-winning British journalist who has lived and worked abroad for most of her career.
As a foreign correspondent, she has written about the politics, economics, finance and culture of countries in Asia, Europe and the Americas, investigating corruption and covering natural disasters.
She has lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, the United States, Sweden, the Netherlands, and most recently in Spain and Portugal. But she has also reported from several other countries including Japan, India, Myanmar and Thailand.
In Singapore, she learned printmaking techniques including etching, woodcut, and lithography at Singapore Tyler Print Institute. She also uses inks, watercolours and oil paints.
Her work is inspired by the colours, nature and terrain of her immediate surroundings, whether the harsh landscapes of Australia, the lush vegetation of tropical Indonesia and Singapore, the mountain colours of Morocco and southern Spain, the pristine nature of Comporta and the Alentejo region in Portugal, and the beauty of animal skulls, shells, and plants.
