Juan Antonio Sangil

Biography

Contact

He was born in Madrid, where studies art and ceramics.

An active professional life is developed, he participates in numerous exhibitions and activities related to ceramics.

He travels to Taiwan and works in Taipei with local potters being influenced by oriental art.

He also carries out research works at the Skolen for Brugskumst in Copenhagen in Denmark, at the Experimental Ceramic Studio in Kesckemet in Hungary, at the ceramic research center of Sigaraky in Japan and at the porcelain factories of Sargadelos, Lugo and Alundum refractory products in Burriana, Castellón.

Since 1974 he has participated in group exhibitions in Spain, France, England, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Taiwan, China and Japan.

He is also present at the ARCO International Fair, in the editions of 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987, and at the Ovidos Biennial in Portugal and at the Fuji Biennials 2000 and 2004 at the Nakatomi Art Museum, Japan, and participates in The 40th Memorial Japan Contemporary Arts and Grafts, Ueno, Tokio, Japon.

He is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics.
