Donizetti’s opera Don Pasquale is a turbulent, timeless comedy full of twists, intrigue and poignant moments.

Don Pasquale, a wealthy old bachelor, decides to marry to disinherit his nephew Ernesto who, against his uncle’s wishes, wants to marry the penniless widow Norina. But his confidant Malatesta sides with the young couple and sets a trap for them. Caterina Panti Liberovici’s production, in vaudevillian style and with characters typical of commedia dell’arte, offers an entertaining show. With young talents as soloists and an expressive set design with paintings by the Swiss artist Raffaela Zenoni, Compagnie Sequenda underlines its excellent reputation in the field of international opera.
